Julia Chanteray, business advisor for Brighton, Sussex and London

Julia Chanteray

I began my business career setting up social enterprises in a deprived area of Edinburgh where I first learnt how to run businesses and juggle lots of different projects all at the same time. Since then, I have run a number of successful businesses, including a housing association and a management development company, plus completed an MBA. As Operations Director for a technology company, I took it from seven members of staff crammed into a small office to 50 people and an AIM floatation in 18 months.

I am very active in the Brighton business community and I’m President of the Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce. I regularly talk about business issues for TV and radio and was the resident business expert on Channel 4′s Risking It All programme I write a blog about my work with small businesses, full of advice and opinion, which also appears in the Brighton Argus. I’m also the director of Tender Winner, which helps businesses find, bid for, and win tenders.

See my LinkedIn profile for more about me and my career.

About The Joy of Business

After moving to Brighton nine years ago, I started the Joy of Business because so many people were asking me for my support with their businesses. Since then I have helped hundreds of companies throughout the south east and London from small businesses who wants to take on their first member of staff to medium sized enterprises looking to step up a level.

I specialise in supporting smaller businesses, because they’re the ones I’m passionate about. I provide:

  • Ongoing advice and support for small businesses who want to grow into bigger businesses
  • Business planning, and help with raising investment and finance
  • Help with making those important decisions in your business
