About Julia Chanteray

julia chanteray

Julia Chanteray runs The Joy of Business, providing practicalsupport and advice to businesses in Brighton, Sussex and London.

I was the resident business expert on Channel 4's Risking It All programme, where more than 2 million people watched Julia on each of the five episodes. I've also been featured on the BBC Politics show talking about business issues and write a blog in the Brighton Argus

I am very active in the Brighton business community, where I serve as President of the Chamber of Commerce, and I'm a member of the Economic Partnership.

Julia's background

I started my business career setting up social enterprises in a very deprived area of Edinburgh, where I worked for 9 years. I did her MBA while working full time on setting up a housing association and other businesses owned by the community.

I then moved to the private sector and worked as Operations Director for a technology company, taking it from 7 members of staff to 50 staff and an AIM floatation in 18 months.

Julia's work

I've worked with hundreds of companies in Brighton, Sussex and London, all of whom have benefited from my range ofexpertise and ability to quickly see what the real issues are. I especially likes to work with companies who have a great product or service, but are having difficulty getting to where they want to go. I like to help people to become what I call "grown up businesses"
